    What do nearly 3 of 4 women business owners do? Give back.

    In a survey of more than 140 female entrepreneurs from across the nation, conducted by Wobwire.com, 71.4% report donating funds to support a favored charity or cause. The most popular cause: women, children and families.

    Global Language Solutions (GLS) is among the many women-owned businesses that give back to their community through their companies. The Aliso Viejo-based translation and interpreting firm participated in the first annual national survey of female entrepreneurs conducted by Newport Beach, CA-based Wobwire.com, the newswire for women-owned business. Among the survey findings: nearly three out of four companies that are majority-owned by women dedicate a portion of their revenue to organizations and charities that are close to their hearts, many sharing their profits with more than one charity or group.

    A Time to Give – Corporate Philanthropy

    The holiday season is in full swing. Today marks the first day of Hanukkah, earlier this week online holiday shopping kicked into full gear with Cyber Monday, and several satellite radio stations have officially switched over to “Sounds of the Season” — featuring all of your favorite carols 24 hours a day for the next month. Although much of the media focuses on buying and receiving, in this post, we expand on a previous entry about giving back and how you can incorporate the holidays into your corporate philanthropy programs. It doesn’t have to impact your bottom line to make a big difference in your community and boost your corporate morale.
